Our Program

The Sweetgrass School’s Program

In addition to providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment, The Sweetgrass School provides an academically engaging program to all children. The Sweetgrass School utilizes the South Carolina Early Learning Standards to plan for and drive instruction. The implementation of these standards helps ensure that students leaving The Sweetgrass School for kindergarten will be academically, socially, and emotionally prepared for the school years ahead of them.  Beginning with infancy, The Sweetgrass School focuses on each child’s physical, emotional, social, motor, language, and cognitive development. The Sweetgrass School uses thematic units as a guide to help students explore the world around them. Literacy, math, science, art, music, and movement are all important components of each day’s learning.
